Entry on the Konyaaltı concessions

From Antalya Airport, the public beaches that make sense for a first swim are Lara and Konyaaltı, not the hotel strips beside them. Lara is the closer sandy shore, about 5.8 km from the terminal in a straight line, with ramps named on the red and white public beach. Konyaaltı is the long pebble bay west of the centre. Its public concessions start at Yaşam Parkı 1, 11.2 km from the airport, and run out to about 17.7 km. Entry on those concessions is free. A free entrance is not a price for a lounger, and no official lounger price is published. Each of these beaches also holds a Blue Flag certification. The coast sits in the Mediterranean region, with the rest of the certified beaches in the Turkey guide.

From the airport

Use the airport page on buses and public transport, then check it again on the day. Municipal buses run from the airport to the intercity bus terminal or the city centre. Times are in the Antalyakart app, or by calling 0242 606 07 07. AntRay, on the line Havalimanı, Meydan and Fatih, serves the airport, the city centre, the intercity terminal and Fatih. The terminal is 4 km north of the city centre, and the same page calls AntRay the practical way from there into town.

Airline coaches leave with the flights. Ask the airline. If a tour operator sold the holiday, their desks are outside the terminal and they provide the hotel coach. None of that gives a minute count from the kerb to Konyaaltı or Lara sand, so no journey time is stated. The kilometres below are straight-line distances, not a drive.

Konyaaltı

The Antalya municipality beaches page describes Konyaaltı as about 7 km of shore, a public beach plus more than 30 beaches run by businesses, mostly fine pebbles with some fine sand, reachable from points in the city centre. It does not state an entrance fee. The only beach on that page that explicitly says entry is free is Kızılağaç Public Beach in Manavgat, sand and pebble, by the road. That is a Manavgat beach, not the airport transfer.

  • Yaşam Parkı 1. 11.2 km from the airport, about 2.4 km from Antalya. Free entry. Wheelchair access on the beach, not into the water. Lifeguard equipment from 08.30 to 19.30, four accessible toilets, and a pebble beach in the description. The Blue Flag entry also calls it sandy, which does not match that pebble line, so look at the shore in front of you. June sea 24.7°C, July 27.7°C, August 29.0°C, September 27.7°C. OpenStreetMap shows public toilets at 77 metres and the Konyaaltı plajı stop at 344 metres.
  • Konyaaltı Public Beach 11. 17.1 km from the airport, about 3.9 km from Konyaaltı. Free entry. Wheelchair access on the beach and into the water. Lifeguard equipment from 09.00 to 19.00 and one accessible toilet. Described as pebble, and also called sandy. Same sea temperatures as Yaşam Parkı 1. OpenStreetMap shows public toilets at 157 metres and parking at 169 metres. Beach 12 is the same 17.1 km, and beach 13 is 17.7 km.
  • Sarısu. Further west, 19.5 km from the airport. Free entry. Wheelchair access on the beach, not into the water. Pebble, lifeguard equipment from 08.30 to 19.30, two accessible toilets.

The public concessions on this bay run from Yaşam Parkı 1 through park 10 and on to beaches 11, 12 and 13. Entry is free on all of them. The city page talks about Konyaaltı as one shore, which is the name to use if you are asking for directions. Yaşam Parkı 1 is the concession with a photo, toilets close by, and access that stops at the beach rather than continuing into the water. Beach 11 is the one further along that does list access into the water.

Lara

  • Lara, the red and white public beach. 5.8 km from the airport and about 10 km from Antalya. Free entry, wheelchair access on the beach and into the water, a lifeguard and sand. The description calls it an urban public beach with ramps and one accessible toilet, and names the sand lily as a plant to leave alone. OpenStreetMap shows public toilets at 47 metres and parking at 210 metres. Sea temperatures match Konyaaltı: 24.7°C in June, 27.7°C in July, 29.0°C in August, 27.7°C in September.
  • Lara Lazlo. 6.7 km from the airport, about 13 km from Antalya. Free entry, wheelchair access on the beach but not into the water, a lifeguard and sand. The description also mentions ramps and one accessible toilet.
  • Lara Public Beach 1 and Lara Public Beach 2, under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Both are 6.0 km from the airport. Their Blue Flag entries do not list access, a lifeguard, or if you pay to get in.

Lara is not on the municipality's beach directory, so the entrance note comes from the Blue Flag entry, not from that city page. Hotel beaches along the same shore are separate. If a hotel beach says entry is free, that still is not a sunbed price. No official lounger price is published.

Cliffs, Kaleiçi, and beaches without a ramp

The city page names five Falez beaches run by Muratpaşa: İnciraltı, Engelsiz Kafe, Erdal İnönü Kent Parkı, Erenkuş and Konserve Koyu. İnciraltı and Konserve are tied to hotel names, and Konserve is not a free public entrance, so they stay off the shortlist. Engelsiz Kafe is named on that list. Access and any entrance fee are not described for it in the sources used here, so it stays off the shortlist.

  • Erdal İnönü Kent Parkı. The page also carries the Akra Antalya hotel name. 7.7 km from the airport. Free entry. No wheelchair access on the beach or into the water. Rocky, with a pier, lifesaving equipment from 09.00 to 19.30, and the beach's own line that there are no ramps.
  • Erenkuş. Also 7.7 km from the airport. Free entry, and no wheelchair access. Rocky, with a pier, lifesaving equipment from 09.00 to 19.00. The description says there are stairs and no ramps.
  • Mermerli, at Kaleiçi yacht harbour. 8.9 km from the airport and about 0.3 km from the old centre. Entry is not free, and the city page does not publish a price. No wheelchair access. A lifeguard is listed. Sand and pebbles, with showers and toilets, in the description.

If a ramp matters, stay with Lara's red and white beach or with Konyaaltı Beach 11. Erdal İnönü and Erenkuş are public and free, and they say plainly that there is no ramp.

How we picked these beaches

166 Blue Flag beaches list Antalya Airport as the nearest airport, and 32 of them are within 15 km in a straight line. This page keeps the public concessions, not the hotel beaches along the same water. July sea temperature for every one of those 32 is 27.7°C. There is no 2025 EU bathing-water class for these Turkish beaches, so none is called Excellent.

Questions visitors ask

How do you get from Antalya Airport to Konyaaltı?

The airport transport page says municipal buses run from the airport to the intercity bus terminal or the city centre. Times are in the Antalyakart app or on 0242 606 07 07. The AntRay tram, on the Havalimanı, Meydan and Fatih line, also serves the airport, the city centre, the intercity terminal and Fatih. That terminal is 4 km north of the city centre. The page does not give a minute count from the airport to Konyaaltı or Lara sand. In a straight line, Yaşam Parkı 1 is 11.2 km from the airport and Konyaaltı Public Beach 13 is 17.7 km. That is not a drive time.

Is Lara beach free?

The municipal beaches page does not describe Lara and does not give it a fee. The Blue Flag entry for the Lara red and white public beach lists free entry, lifeguards and sand. That is an entrance note, not a lounger price. No official sunbed price is published for the hotel beaches either. The only beach on the municipal directory with an explicit line that entry is free is Kızılağaç Public Beach in Manavgat, which is not the airport run.

Is Konyaaltı sand or pebble?

The Antalya municipality page says Konyaaltı has about 7 km of shore, a public beach plus more than 30 beaches run by businesses, and a surface that is mostly fine pebbles with some fine sand. The description of Yaşam Parkı 1 calls it a pebble public beach, and the Blue Flag entry also calls it sandy. Konyaaltı Public Beach 11 is described as pebble and also called sandy. Look at the stretch in front of you. There is no map that settles the difference.

How warm is the sea near the airport?

Beaches within 15 km of Antalya Airport, in a straight line, share a July sea temperature of 27.7°C. The public beaches on this page are also 24.7°C in June, 29.0°C in August and 27.7°C in September. Turkey is outside the 2025 EU bathing-water classes published for Spain, Portugal, France, Italy and Greece, so this page does not give Lara or Konyaaltı an Excellent class.
