The World's Independent Blue Flag Beach Guide

We exist to help travellers make confident, well-informed decisions about Blue Flag certified beaches — without commercial bias.

"Every traveller deserves honest, data-driven information about the beaches they're planning to visit — not promotional copy."

What Zeach is

Zeach is an independent editorial guide covering all Blue Flag certified beaches, marinas, and boats worldwide. We document water quality ratings, facilities, crowd levels, seasonal patterns, and travel logistics for every certified site in our database.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or funded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), which administers the Blue Flag programme. "Blue Flag" is a registered trademark of FEE. Our editorial work is independent.

What makes Zeach different

Most beach content online is either promotional tourism material, thin aggregator listings, or heavily rewarded review content. Zeach takes a different approach:

  • Data-first: Every page is built from verified, structured data — EU bathing water records, FEE certification status, weather station data, crowd monitoring, and local transport information.
  • Regional authorship: Pages are written by local authors with first-hand knowledge of each coastline, reviewed by our Coastal Research Editor.
  • No affiliate pressure: We may include relevant travel affiliate links (for hotels, car hire, and activities) but these never influence our editorial coverage. Affiliate income does not affect which beaches we cover, how we describe them, or what ratings we report.
  • No pay-to-feature: Beaches cannot pay to be featured, ranked higher, or described more favourably. Coverage is solely determined by Blue Flag certification status.

Our coverage

We cover all 5,000+ Blue Flag certified beaches, marinas, and sustainable tourism boats across 50+ countries. Our database is updated annually after FEE publishes its certification results, typically in June of each year.

Water quality data is sourced from the European Environment Agency (EEA) for European beaches, and from national environmental monitoring bodies for beaches outside the EU.

Who runs Zeach

Zeach is an editorially independent publication. Our content is produced by a distributed team of regional beach researchers and travel writers, with all editorial output reviewed by our Coastal Research Editor, Arjun Nair.

You can read more about our team on our Authors page and review our content standards on our Editorial Methodology page.
