In order to control the quality of the swimming water, analyses are performed throughout the entire season. Beach waters of Ventspils are awarded with the highest quality rating. A flat entrance from the shore leads into the swimming area, gradually deepening. Two Sandbanks with decreased water depth are located within the allowed swimming distance, marked by buoys, where the maximum water depth reaches about 2 meters. Every year when the swimming season starts, beach infrastructure is prepared – over the dunes plank-ways are being set up and waste bins placed (also for recycled waste) at six entrances. At the request of residents, sunbathing benches, sunbathing rocking chairs, eight changing rooms, showers, information stands and rescue equipment are set up. Also beach volleyball courts are built, outdoor gymnastic complexes are set up, basketball hoops, interesting playgrounds and different swings are placed for the use of families with children. The main rescue service building with two beach observation towers is located near the water. An automated public toilet available also for those with disabilities is placed near the main Beach entrance. Along the beach stretches a line of street lighting. The beach is easily and safely accessible by car, which you can park in specially made and free parking lots. You can reach it also by bicycle using the cycling path, and it is possible to place your vehicle in the special bicycle racks placed in the territory of the beach.
